Team Building & Bonding

Connect through creativity and learn more about each other.

Strong teams are built on understanding, trust, and an appreciation of difference. This workshop creates space for team members to connect, using creativity as a shared language to explore how people think, work, and contribute.

Through playful, hands-on art-making and guided reflection, participants are invited to express their working styles, values, and perspectives in creative ways. The experience is inclusive, energising, and designed to help teams build deeper connections while enjoying the process together.

“Creativity brings people together. Shared creative experiences help build empathy, trust, and a sense of belonging.”
- Susan Magsamen & Ivy Ross, Your Brain on Art

Session Flow

This session supports teams to:

  • Build trust and psychological safety

  • Strengthen communication and understanding

  • Appreciate diverse working styles and perspectives

  • Create shared meaning through collaborative experiences.

Art Practice 1: Oil Pastels — Bold Expression

Using oil pastels, participants explore colour, rhythm, and form to express how they work. Included is a partner activity where participants work in pairs, interviewing and drawing one another.

Team Building Reflection:

  • What lights you up at work?

  • What strengths do you bring to the team?

  • What helps you do your best work?

Art Practice 2: Team Zine — Our Collective Story

The team collaborates on a shared mini zine, creating pages around key themes:

  • Who We Are

  • How We Work

  • What We Value

  • Where We’re Going

Using a mix of materials (pastel, watercolour, charcoal, collage), this activity brings individual perspectives together into a collective narrative.

Workshop Outcomes

Teams will leave with:

  • A stronger sense of connection and trust

  • Greater understanding of each other’s strengths and working styles

  • Renewed energy and positivity within the group.

“Perfect – I was engaged from the beginning to the end. Kate did a great job of tying in the relationship between what we were doing and how it could help in our roles and work situations. I enjoyed everything about the session. I never thought I could paint but with Natalie’s guidance, I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome!”
